Ongoing Series: “You’re An Animal!"
I spend an inordinate amount of time with my zoo-loving son, so I try to see the zoo with the same wonder and imagination as he does, through fresh eyes and with wonder in the beauty and power in nature. I discovered this project while look at photos he took on one of our visits to the zoo. I was struck by what he saw, he focused on all of the little details, no animal was an "animal" it was a collection of claws, feathers, colors, environment and shape. Much of photography is seeing anew and this project is about seeing animals anew and seeing how in some ways they remind me of us as humans in both positive and negative ways. My viewpoint is also with a street photographers eye of the human condition, serendipity and irony. This is evolving as it goes so let’s see where it takes us!
